Inexpensive Pampering

Tomorrow is me and DH's 5th wedding anniversary. As part of my gift, he gave me money to spend toward my haircut. I booked an appointment at my local Aveda school and got a pedicure and haircut for $16, plus tip! 2 hours of relaxing bliss, shorter hair, and pink toenails - perfection.

When I opt for a pedicure, I go to my local beauty school. They don't have nearly the harsh chemical scents that most of the "pro" places do, and I actually think they do better work than most, since they are supervised.

If I just need a hair trim, I do the same. Changing my hairstyle completely means I would generally go for a more experienced salon, but just for a 6 week trim, the school is great.

A normal haircut is usually about $30, a normal pedi is usually about the same - $60 vs $16 - kind of a no-brainer, right?
